Booking a club session
Finding and reserving a spot at a local club takes less than two minutes. Here's everything you need to know — from searching for a session through to walking in the door on the day.
How to book

Log in to your account
Head to badmintonvillage.nz and sign in. If you don't have an account yet, creating one is free and takes about a minute.

Find a session
Browse clubs near you from the Sessions page, or search by suburb, day of week, or skill level. Each listing shows the session time, court address, skill level, and the cost per person.

Select your spot
Click the session you want, then tap “Book a spot”. Sessions show live availability — if the session is full you’ll see a waitlist option instead.

Choose how to pay
Pay instantly by card (Visa, Mastercard) via Stripe, or choose bank transfer if the club has enabled it. Bank transfer bookings are held for 24 hours — your spot is only confirmed once payment clears.

Booking confirmed
Once payment is processed you'll receive a confirmation email with the session details, the court address, and a QR code for check-in. The booking also appears in your dashboard under “Upcoming sessions”.
Payment options
Clubs choose which payment methods they accept. Both appear at checkout when available.
Card (Stripe)
Instant confirmation. Visa and Mastercard accepted. Your card details are processed securely by Stripe — Badminton Village never stores card numbers.
Bank transfer
Your spot is held for 24 hours. Email your payment reference to the club. Once payment clears your booking status changes to Confirmed. Use your booking ID as the reference.
After you book
Your confirmation email
A confirmation email is sent to your registered address immediately after payment is processed. It includes:
- ✓Session date, time, and court address
- ✓A QR code the club can scan at the door
- ✓Your booking reference number
- ✓Cancellation deadline and refund policy
Didn't receive the email? Check your spam folder, then visit your dashboard where all bookings are listed.
Check-in on the day
Arrive a few minutes early and show your QR code to the organiser — they'll scan it in the Badminton Village club app. Once checked in, your attendance is recorded and any loyalty points for the session are added to your balance automatically.
No QR code to hand? The organiser can look up your name on their session list. Your booking ID is also printed in the confirmation email as a fallback.
Cancellation policy
Each club sets its own cancellation window — this is shown clearly on the session listing and in your confirmation email. The common structure is:
Cancel before the deadline
Full refund to your original payment method.
Cancel after the deadline
Booking fee is forfeited. Some clubs offer a credit toward a future session instead — check the listing.
No-show
Full fee is forfeited. Repeated no-shows may affect your ability to book with that club.
To cancel, go to your dashboard → Upcoming sessions → select the booking → Cancel.
Quick FAQ
- Can I book for someone else?
- Bookings are attached to your account. If you want to bring a friend, use a guest pass — see the guest passes help article.
- The session I want is full — what can I do?
- Join the waitlist. If a spot opens up (due to a cancellation) you'll be emailed in order of joining the waitlist. You then have two hours to confirm your spot.
- Can I transfer my booking to another session?
- Not directly. Cancel your existing booking (before the deadline) and rebook the new session.
- What if the club cancels the session?
- You receive a full refund automatically and an email notification from the club.
